Blessing of the Animals is held on the first Sunday of October in honor of St. Francis. People are encouraged to bring their family pets to either Sunday service for a blessing.
Healing Service is usually held during our Sunday Services on the fifth Sunday of the month. We offer prayers for God’s healing on behalf of ourselves and others.
Advent Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture Readings and the singing of hymns focused on the Season of Advent. A reception is usually held after the service. Usually held the First or Second Sunday of Advent, please check the calendar for more information.
Epiphany Service is held on the Feast of the Epiphany celebrating the arrival of the Wise Men to the Christ Child as they present their gifts. The reception after the service invites people to bring an ethnic dish to share.
Palm Sunday is the beginning of Holy Week and a day we celebrate Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. We also read the Passion Gospel on this day.
Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday is the day we celebrate the institution of the Lord’s Supper. We remember Jesus’ gift to the disciples and us in the Eucharist. The altar is also stripped at the end of the service to symbolize Jesus’ abandonment by the disciples and his being stripped before the crucifixion.
Good Friday is the day we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and his death on Calvary. Our services include the Stations of the Cross and the reception of Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament.
Easter is the day of resurrection in which Christ rose from the dead. We are an Easter people. The choir is present for both services.
Christmas is the day we celebrate the incarnation. God with us. Our early service on Christmas Eve is a family service and our second is a more traditional one.
